I am a graduate of Polytechnic South-West (Plymouth University) and Brighton University. I have been designing places and spaces for 30 years and have an ever-widening client base across Sussex, fuelled by returning clients and recommendations.
My home design studio is on the edge of Seaford, a thriving Sussex seaside town
surrounded by the beautiful South Downs National Park.
My practice ethos enables me to work solely on your project. My undivided attention
and clear-minded work approach ensures an energetic tempo throughout the
design process with ambitious results that will stand the test of time.
I approach each project with passion and care, reacting creatively to your needs,
the site conditions, your timescale and budget. I solve everyday challenges to
create beautifully simple, uncomplicated spaces.
Recently I have been working with families to adapt and expand their homes.
I expect my clients to share lifestyles, ideas and dreams. We communicate, listen and
explore. Together, we design a ‘lifetime’ home.
I draw on expertise gained from the collaboration with numerous clients, organisations and
Local Authorities and I continue to work with a trusted group of consultants and contractors to deliver new homes, extensions and alterations to existing dwellings.
I am always happy to meet you on site to discuss your design needs and concepts. Having secured relevant site information I provide a detailed fee letter. This sets out my Architectural Design services and required Local Authority and Statutory Authority consents.
My appointment is secured on my receipt of this fee letter, signed.
Project feasibility is key to the design solution. l work with you to explore and interpret your wishes
and needs, to agree the design brief and to set out the true viability of ‘the building works’ to
your home. This design stage examines ‘permitted development rights’, Planning options,
Consultant appointments and Statutory Authority compliances. Consideration is always
given to garden amenity spaces/neighbouring communities. Before submission of
Local Authority applications, a costings package is offered. Regardless of project scale,
technical design, with an attention to detail, is key to good construction execution.
This input starts on day one.
Valuable input from Engineers, Surveyors and Assessors is also available. High-quality
drawings and documentation supports every design project. AutoCAD 2D drawings aid
the design and detailing of subsequent consent applications. Thoughtfully laid out and easy-
to-read detailed specification packages have a significant and beneficial effect on the projects
design.HINDOVER is involved in. All statutory consents including Planning and Building Regulation
applications, Party Wall Act agreements, CDM Act requirements and Local Water Authority regulations can be applied for.
We can all work together to guide you, the homeowner, through all the stages of your construction project.
